Program Coordinator, Mr. Charlie Coronel joins the Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue Refresher Test Course last January 21-24, 2009.

This course was given to participants who have already graduated their CSSR Basic Course and was not able to teach the course or did not engage in the CSSR activity for two years or more.

This was participated by participants and instructors from different countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Philippines.

The objective of the course is to prepare any humanitarian organization which takes part in the training for future disasters involving collapsed structures.

Collapsed structures may result from a natural or man-made disaster, armed conflicts or other situations of violence. The course involves the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) marking system updates, Penetration of different surfaces like metal bars, cinder blocks, unreinforced masonry, bricks and wood, search techniques, shoring methods, lifting and stabilizing loads and safety operation of power tools, equipments and accessories.
